Howsit Going Everybody!
If you've ever felt the weight of chronic pain, racing thoughts, or just the everyday stresses of life pulling you away from being your best self—as a parent, spouse, disciple, or just a human trying to show up—then this one's for you.
I just dropped a new episode of my podcast: "Roots of Peace – My Go-To Supplements: Kava, Marijuana, and Faith."
In this heartfelt 30-minute chat (just me and my bro talking while we're sitting together over a bowl of kava), I open up about two natural plants from God's earth that have been game-changers in my life: kava and marijuana. Both have helped me manage pain, find emotional calm, and feel more connected—to my family, to prayer, and to the peace the Savior promises.

I start with kava, my current daily go-to. We dive into its beautiful history from the Pacific Islands (think 3,000+ years of Tongan and Fijian ceremonies—circles of people, "Bula!" toasts, that earthy, tingly drink that brings gentle relaxation without any fog or crash). It's clear-headed calm in a cup: eases muscle tension, quiets anxiety, lifts the mood, and helps me unwind while staying sharp for what matters most.

Then I transition to marijuana, which has been a reliable supplement since my high school days. I'm pro-marijuana because it's genuinely helped me so much—real relief from pain and stress, better sleep, more patience and empathy. It wasn't about escaping life; it was about functioning better in it. Over the decades, it's given me emotional space to live my covenants more fully, serve my family, and feel grateful.
I share how both fit (or don't) into my life as a Latter-day Saint. We talk Word of Wisdom navigation—prayerful study of D&C 89, personal revelation, moderation, and seeking health without bondage. For me, mindful use of these tools has brought healing and clarity, not conflict. I compare the two: marijuana's deeper, potent relief for tougher days vs. kava's gentler, everyday wave of peace. Both are gifts I've used with gratitude.

The episode stays positive—no judgment, just real talk from two guy's experience. I wrap with practical tips (quality sources, start low, listen to your body and the Spirit) and a hopeful reminder: Heavenly Father scatters tools across the earth for our well-being—body, mind, and spirit.
If you're wrestling with pain, anxiety, or wondering how faith and natural remedies can work together, give it a listen. Whether you're curious about kava ceremonies, have your own stories with these plants, or just need some encouragement to seek peace prayerfully—this episode is for you.

Grateful for these roots that bring peace, and for all of you walking similar paths. Malo, and may you feel that same calm today.
With lots of Chill and faith.
