Hey everybody, IAmtheRexiest, here, and wow—what fun our latest podcast episode turned out to be! Vanessa and I sat down to spill the tea on how our home went from feeling like a chaotic hotel full of roommates to an actual cozy, connected family spot. If you've ever felt like everyone's just rushing past each other, phones in hand, meals on the go, and zero real togetherness... yeah, that was us not too long ago.

We dove deep into the simple (but not always easy) shifts we made, starting with us changing first. Shoutout to Gandhi for the quote: "Be the change you wish to see in the world"—it hit different when applied to our own house!

We talked about getting back to church—not just showing up, but really showing up: singing, participating, prepping clothes the night before so mornings aren't a battle. Then came more frequent temple visits, which reminded us of our covenants and sparked those little daily tweaks.

The game-changers?

Waking up at 6:30 AM for family scripture study + prayer (me cooking breakfast while Nessa leads—smelling bacon helps everyone stay awake!).

Real family meals where phones are away, and we're actually talking and laughing.

Switching to shorter, deeper scripture dives (just 2 verses each, everyone shares what stands out—no more zoning out or doodling!).

Learning patience, humility (especially Nessa stepping back to let me get in there), and really listening to the kids instead of dictating.

It's not perfect—some days are still messy, kids resist, and habits take time—but the ripple effects? Huge. More engagement, deeper talks, kids helping with dishes without being asked, and that feeling of "this is home." Nessa dropped some gems about focus, ditching distractions, and letting the Holy Ghost guide instead of high expectations or multitasking.

If you're craving more structure, connection, and spiritual vibes in your home, give this episode a listen. It's raw, real, and full of hope—no fancy steps or books, just us figuring it out one consistent choice at a time.

Drop a comment below: What's one small change you've made (or want to make) to bring your family closer? Vanessa and I would love to hear!

Much love,

Rex & Vanessa

(And the crew who's slowly but surely vibing together again) 🚀❤️
